However, making sense of hundreds of books and thousands of studies is a complicated task, which is why many mistakenly think that leadership is an indefinable phenomenon. Some of us presume complete authority in our own favored ways. Novel leaders often discard the entire system used by the exiting leaders. In a catastrophic situation, persistence on individual style can be helpful; yet in a democratic culture, leaders don’t own the organization and must consider the right of the followers. Personal style and preference must be†¦show more content†¦When the people sinned against God and went astray, God called the prophets to rebuke His people, when they repented and needed reconciliation and mediation, the prophets shut up and the priests were called forward to make peace between God and people. After they became a nation, when the Israelite nation had to be organized to fulfill a mission like building a city or the temple, to organize an army and fight against the enemy, the Kings were called forward and the prophets and priests were removed from the spot lights. Styles of Organizational Leadership All three functions are affected by our personality. We must note also that the role of an organizational leader is just as spiritual as that of the prophet or priest. The relatively more detailed discussion of style and personal character in the organizational function should not undermine the importance of the other two. We have chosen to focus on the organizational leaders function this time only because it is a more commonly or broadly needed skill. Different situations call for different approaches There are many ways leaders approach their task of organization or management, all derived from their personality and character. Each of these styles has its advantages and disadvantages.
